Sorry it has taken me a little longer to get this project posted than I thought. I have been looking up project ideas that deal with photo manipulation (ie- aging someone or making someone appear much younger), taking an individual and making them into someone they are not (ie- making someone look like a zombie or a character from Avatar).
For homework bring in some self portraits using your digital camera so we can work on some photo manipulation. Try and take a number of photographs so we have a number of options to work from. Bring in some additional photographs of landscapes if you have them and if we need to we can get some images samples online.
I would like for use to work on a narrative piece were you are transported to another world based out of one of your favorite book. Think of a book that you enjoyed as a child or a favorite short story and we will use that as a basis for a world that we will create in class. This project might take use a while so we might have to break it down into several parts.
Again - to start use off bring some good quality photos of yourself (I would take some head shots and some full body photographs in front of a white wall. Bring in a book or a story that you might want to base your image on and any additional photographs or images that you might want to incorporate.... we will start from there!
- Photos of you
- Book to base your image on
- Any additional source images that interest you!
See you guys Tuesday in class!
Ian
PS - Here is a good tutorial where an artist dealt with scale using a giant elephant and a city scene, but it looks into using light to help bring the images together. This might be something that you want to look over while you finish up your scale photographs!
I want to try some of these effects on my project. I can use a mask to make shadow for the can. I glad I checked it out.
